Odden is a very special place in my hometown Silkeborg, Denmark, It is a small wooded peninsula in the middle of our town. In 1951 my grandfather Aksel E. Madsen painted “Oddebroen” (The peninsula bridge) in watercolor. Aksel was born in one of the houses across the bridge on the left hand side. If you continue straight up the hill to the end of the road behind the small houses in the horizon of the painting you will get to the railroad. Here he worked as an electrician for more than 40 years. I believe my Grandfather was a very talented artist and I might have inherited my love for painting from him.

In May of 2020 life slowed down and I finally found time to paint my version(s) of Oddebroen.

I Consider these paintings collaborations between my grandfather and I.
